A Ryanair plane made an emergency landing at Corfu airport on Wednesday afternoon, June 28. He was heading to Milan in Italy when the pilot reported an engine failure just after takeoff at 7:00 pm from Corfu airport, the website reports. enikos.gr.
According to the state broadcaster ERTthe pilot reported engine damage, possibly due to a bird ingestion.
According to ERT, the aircraft immediately after takeoff moved west towards the sea area of Paleokastritsa, and then flew southwest of Corfu, where, after making several circles, it entered the runway, flying over Agios Georgios, and then in the direction of Moraitika and Benitses to enter the landing glide path.
The fire brigade moved to the area where the plane was ordered to make an emergency landing and airport authorities were put on alert. Finally the Raynair plane landed safely at Corfu airport. No problems with passengers have been reported yet.
