Patras: Attempted takeover of ND polling station by anarchists

On Friday, June 6, anarchists attempted to seize the New Democracy polling station in Patras.

It is located at the intersection of Ermou and Agios Andreou streets. At the scene of the incident writes CNN Greece, the police arrived promptly. The actions of the anarchists gave the Ahai Steering Committee of the ND the opportunity to make an announcement to the “known-unknowns”:

“Some time ago, ‘known unknowns’ bandits attempted to take over the Patras New Democracy Electoral Center in Patras. Their goal was to invade the polling center where DEEP president Antonis Kunavis, members of the organization and volunteers were, and they pushed them back. They insulted members of the ND, who lined up a chain of guards at the entrance to the polling station. They tried to throw paint to destroy the polling station and intimidate the 40 officials and volunteers who were there. A society of active citizens marginalized them. DEEP ND Achaia and thousands of New Democracy members in Achaia will continue to be at the forefront of the battle for another Greece. Our answer is the same. Democracy and parliamentarianism are not blackmailed by such actions. They don’t scare us. We move forward together, strong, brave and forward.”
