Holy Spirit Day: how shops work

The Day of the Holy Spirit “falls” on the coming Monday, June 5th. How banks, supermarkets, government agencies work.

This holiday is not on the list of state holidays, so different enterprises work differently. Banks and public services are closed on MondayA supermarkets will work as usual. Some supermarkets and shops will be open from 08:00 to 20:00, while others will be open until 21:00.

June 5th will not work:

• bookstores.
• diagnostic centers.
• Managers.
  Newspapers.
• Clinics.
• Sawmills (Athens – Piraeus – Perihoron).
• Oil companies.
• Transport agencies.
• Printing houses and delivery of daily newspapers.
• Institutions of secondary and higher education, tutoring centers.

For public sector workers, ΝΠΔΔ and ΟΤΑ The Day of the Holy Spirit is a holiday.
