Attention! Which beaches in Attica are not allowed to swim?

Summer officially begins today, and thousands of Attica residents will want to cool off on hot days at the nearby beach.

In this context, the Panhellenic Center for Environmental Research (Πανελλήνιο Κέντρο Οικολογικών Ερευνών, PAKOE) lists suitable and unsuitable beaches for swimming.

In 2023, water sampling in the maritime zone of Attica began on May 2 and ended on May 6, and for the rest of the country it began on May 8 and ended on May 18. The center presents official data on the bathing suitability of beaches from Piraeus to Vouliagmeni. A total of 50 beaches were tested, of which 43 are suitable for swimming and 7 are unsuitable.

This year 7 unsuitable beaches from Piraeus to Vouliagmeni are as follows:

• Municipality of Glyfada. Glyfada beach. st. Akti B. Maros and Diadochu Pavel. Delfinia restaurant. Parking.
• Municipality of Glyfada. Glyfada beach Akti B. Outskirts of the beach.
