On a completely unhappy May day in Menidi, a taxi driver was attacked by a gang of minors who managed to rob him of 650 euros.
With numerous injuries all over his body, as well as his arms and legs, the injured Dionisis Sambalis told reporters of the MEGA channel about the events of that bad day: “maybe they had enough money, because if they wanted to kill me, they could easily do it” .
The taxi driver was driving from Piraeus with a young girl as a passenger. “The girl I took must have been a scammer. She kept sending messages that I didn’t understand,” says the taxi driver.
Still unsuspecting, the driver asked her where they were going, entered the destination into the GPS system, and began the route. “We drove onto the road, on the right and left of which there were fields. I realized that something was wrong, I stopped the car, – the victim continued the story. – Suddenly, 10-12 gypsies under 18 appeared, who surrounded the car from the left and right sides, thus blocking the doors. They took the keys and turned off the engine. I had a bag of money in the glove box on the passenger side.”
“The thugs tried to pull me out of the car by force. And suddenly I heard the sound of a chain that immediately wrapped around my neck. It still stands in my ears,” the taxi driver added.
The mistake, he said, was that he resisted. But how could he just give the money earned by his own labor to youngsters ?!
“The 650 euros that I had, I had to pay for the rent of the house and car, and now they have ‘evaporated’ into the hands of robbers,” the man says. “After that, I quit my job,” the unlucky professional concluded his story, still hoping that the robbers would be found and the money could be returned to him.
