‘Wild West’ in Menidi: ‘stray’ bullet wounds 70-year-old man on Easter day while eating with his family

The incident, in which a 70-year-old man was hit by a “stray” bullet, took place at noon on Easter Sunday in Menidi. According to ERT, the man was at the banquet table, which was reportedly attended by several children.

At some point, the man, sitting at the table, felt a blow to his leg, and when he looked down, he saw that a bullet had pierced his calf muscle. The man was taken to the hospital for first aid, and found that his life is not in danger.

According to preliminary data, the bullet was fired into the air from a 9-gauge pistol. This is not the first such case in the metropolitan suburb of Menidi (Aharne).

A large gypsy diaspora lives in this area and its surroundings, whose representatives like to express their emotions with the help of shots. Most often, shooting in the air does without victims, however, the bullets have repeatedly hit the neighbors of the gypsies, and in several cases, with getting into childrenleading to their death or serious injury.

The police are trying to fight this tradition, but without much success.
