The sad result of the holidays – 8 people were injured from fireworks in Greece

Four children and the same number of adults ended up in Greek hospitals with injuries sustained from explosions of fireworks and firecrackers on festive Saturdays and Sundays.

An eight-year-old boy from Pylos suffered a serious hand injury. He tried to light a firecracker, but it exploded in his hands. The child was initially taken to the Pylos Medical Center, but the injury turned out to be serious and he was transferred first to the Kalamata Hospital and then to the Agia Sophia Children’s Hospital in Athens.

A fourteen-year-old teenager from Agistri was admitted to the Agia Sophia Children’s Hospital shortly after the Resurrection. He received multiple burns from firecrackers, amputation of the fingers of his left hand and an injury to his right. The boy was operated on and is being treated at the plastic surgery department of the hospital. The operation went without complications.

A thirteen-year-old teenager was brought to the same hospital at dawn, he was brought from Symi. The child has a partial amputation of the fingers on his right hand and a face wound from a firecracker. He is hospitalized for plastic surgery and will be operated on in the next few hours.
