The cruise liner “Azzura” with 2635 passengers arrived at the port of Souda in the morning and is due to depart at 18:00.
Dimitris Virirakis, President of the Chania Port Foundation, said in a social media post that the ship was expected to arrive tomorrow, Tuesday 4 April. However, due to weather conditions, it arrived a day early. The passengers of the ship visited the old city and the sights of Chania.
Cruise ship arrivals in Souda will continue as 6 cruise ships are scheduled to arrive in April and 17 in May.
Recall that this year the tourist season in Crete began earlier than in any other year. Quite rightly, the branch bodies on the island speak of a year which will move at a record pacesurpassing the tourism figures of 2022 and 2019 as well.
The first flight of Azura took place on March 31, 2010, when the liner was launched from the Fincantieri shipyard. The luxury yacht arrived in the UK on 7 April 2010. First cruise Azura with passengers took place on April 12, 2010.
Ship amenities include an atrium dance floor, a show lounge with a London pub interpretation and more. In total, the ship has eleven restaurants and canteens, twelve bars, four swimming pools, a gym, two spas, an open-air cinema, a theater and two showrooms.
