Reorganization of traffic in Athens from October 16 to January 15 in connection with the work on the 4th metro line

Temporary restriction of traffic in connection with construction work on the 4th metro line began to be carried out from Sunday, October 16, and will last until January 15.

The reorganization measures concern the following streets of the Municipality of Athens:

STAGE 1 and 2

• Gradual reduction in the number of traffic lanes from four (4) to two (2) on Akademias Street and for about 60.0 m at the height of Patriarch Grigoriou (Πατριάρχου Γρηγορίου), occupying the left side of the carriageway in the direction of traffic.
• Prohibition to stop and park vehicles on both sides of the carriageway of Akademias Street and in its part at the height of Ippokratos Street, until the end of the construction site.

STAGE 3

• Gradual reduction in the number of traffic lanes from four to two on Akademias Street in the section between Ippokratos and Asklipiou Streets, and for about 7.0 m after Riga Ferau Street. The work will occupy the right side of the road surface in the direction of vehicle traffic.
• Limitation of the width of the carriageway to approximately 5.50 m from Rīga Ferău Street and for approximately 50.0 m until the intersection with Akademias Street, occupying the right side of the carriageway (in the direction of traffic).
• Cessation of traffic on K. Palamas Street in the section from Riga Ferau Street to K. Patriarch Gregorio.
• Prohibition to stop and park vehicles on both sides of the carriageway of Akademias Street and in its part determined by the height of Ippokratos Street, until the end of the construction site.

STAGE 4

• Gradual reduction of the number of traffic lanes from four to two on Akademias Street in the section between Ippokratos and Asklipiou Streets, for about 12.0 m after Asklipiou Street, by occupying the left side of the carriageway in the direction of traffic.
• Prohibition to stop and park vehicles on both sides of the carriageway of Akademias Street and in its part determined by the height of Ippokratos Street, until the end of the construction site.

STAGE 5

• Gradual reduction of the number of traffic lanes from four to two on Akademias Street from the height of Massalias Pedestrian Street and for about 100.0 m by occupying the left side of the carriageway in the direction of traffic.
• Gradual reduction in the width of the carriageway of Asklipiou Street to approximately 3.00 m by occupying the left side of the carriageway in the direction of movement of vehicles. until the end of the construction site.
