The longest bike path in Athens

In the coming years, Athens will have the longest cycling path available, which will promote green movement and highlight the capital’s urban coastline in one of the most beautiful areas in Europe.

This is the project “Athenian Riviera – City Promenade” (“Αθηναϊκή Ριβιέρα – Αστικός Περίπατος”), which concerns the integration of the urban coastline of the Prefecture of Attica through a single network of pedestrian and bicycle paths. The project involves six municipalities: Kallithea, Faliro, Alimos, Elliniko – Argyroupoli, Glyfada, Vari – Voula – Vouliagmeni.

The redevelopment plan will reform the coastal region by consolidating the coastline from the Municipality of Kalithea to the City Hall of Vari-Voulas-Vouliagmenis.

The bike path will have 13.5 km long and will be the longest in Attica“breaking the record” of the 11 km reversible cycle path that starts from Thissio and ends at Esplanade Faliro.

The project is expected to be completed at the end of 2025.
