At a meeting in Astana, Putin and Erdogan decided to create a gas hub

In the shortest possible time, in Turkey, by agreement with the Russian Federation, an international gas hub will be created, for which a place has already been determined – Eastern Thrace.

About this news agency Anadolu Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on his return from Kazakhstan:

“Ankara and Moscow will work together to establish a gas hub in the East Thrace region following a proposal by Russian leader Vladimir Putin earlier this week. For such a distribution hub, of course, Thrace is considered the most important location. Together with (Russian President Vladimir) Putin, we “We have instructed the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the relevant body on the Russian side to cooperate. They will do this work there. We have a national distribution center, but of course now it will be an international distribution center.”

According to CNN GreeceOn Thursday, on the sidelines of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, Turkish President Erdogan held a closed-door meeting with Russian President Putin. The head of Russia suggested that he build a gas hub in Turkey, saying that it was “the most reliable route” for gas supplies to the European Union and explaining that the construction of a hub there would allow regulating prices, selling gas at reasonable prices and eliminating the “politicization” of the issue.

When asked by journalists about the Russian-Ukrainian war, Erdogan said that Ankara’s mediation between the two countries continues:

“As for Turkey’s mediation, the trust that Russia and some other countries have in Turkey remains unchanged. The constant trust in Turkey has also satisfied us.”

Recall that since the beginning of the war, Turkey has maintained close contacts with both Russia and Ukraine. Its head has repeatedly stressed the desire to put the presidents of Russia and Ukraine at the negotiating table to end the war in Turkey.
