Today at 7:00 Nord Stream stopped deliveries

Gas supplies via Nord Stream stopped on July 11 at 7 a.m. due to planned work that will last until July 21.

According to BB.LV, the pipeline operator Nord Stream AG announced the termination of supplies via the key gas pipeline from Russia to Europe with the beginning of the gas day. The company explained this by carrying out preventive work, including testing of mechanical components and automation systems.

Yesterday, July 10, the Nord Stream flow amounted to about 63.4 million cubic meters, similar to the level of the previous days. This is about 40% of the maximum capacity of the gas pipeline, which is almost 170 million cubic meters per day.

In mid-June, Gazprom reduced Nord Stream pumping by about 60%, explaining this by delays in the work of the German Siemens, which, due to Canadian sanctions against Russia, cannot return gas compressor units for the Portovaya compressor station from the Canadian plant from repair, as well as with identified technical malfunctions of engines.

Yesterday, our publication reported that the Canadian authorities made a decision send a repaired Siemens turbine for the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline to Germany. This was announced on July 9 by Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Natural Resources of Canada.

According to Tagesspiegel, due to planned work on the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline, gas supplies to Germany through it completely stopped. The German government fears that planned technical work could turn into “continuous maintenance for political reasons.”

Earlier in July, the head of the European Commission warned of the danger of a complete halt in Russian gas supplies to EU. In the French government, this is already considered the most likely scenario.

We previously reported that Greece and Bulgaria gas pipeline launched 180 km long. The pipeline, stretching over 180 kilometers, runs between the northeastern Greek city of Komotini and the Bulgarian city of Staraya Zagora, connecting the gas transmission systems of Greece and Bulgaria. Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria is designed to provide these countries and their neighbors with access to new networks.
