On Saturday afternoon, May 21, at a very high speed on the beach of Agia Marina in Chania (Crete) “jumped out” a boat, at the helm of which there was no driver.
The maneuvers of the “strayed” small-sized sea vessel caused panic among the swimmers. According to an eyewitness, a boat quickly approached the shore, fortunately, there were few people in this place at that moment. Vacationers had time to escape from inevitable injuries or death.
Course of events
According to preliminary information from zarpanews.gr, the driver was simply “washed away” by a large wave, while the safety cable broke. As a result, the boat continued its course, becoming uncontrollable.
Fortunately, the girl (it was she who was at the helm) was not seriously injured, and a nearby jet ski helped her get to the port of Platanias, from where an EKAB ambulance took her.
The girl is in good condition and has been referred to the General Hospital of Chania for a more thorough examination of her state of health.
