Immediately after Easter, it will become known what the minimum wage in Greece will be. The dominant scenario – it will increase by 6-8% and exceed 700 euros.
Now, when purchasing power has fallen sharply, this figure is 663 euros. From May 1, the minimum wage is expected to reach around 710 euros. At the same time, all related 24 benefits, for example, for the unemployed, will increase. The next increase is planned for 2023, depending on the budget.
ΚΕΠΕ’s recommendation to Labor Minister Kostis Hatzidakis is to raise the minimum wage by between 4% and 6%. The most prevailing government scenario is that the increase will be from 6% to 8%, which means from 703 to 716 euros. But still, the most likely proposal, which has recently been gaining momentum and has every chance of becoming a priority, provides for a 7% increase. Thus, most likely, the base salary will be € 710, writes cnn.gr.
