The head of the ICR instructed to investigate the attack on the Russians during the rally in Greece

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) Alexander Bastrykin instructed to study the circumstances of the attack on the Russians during a motor rally in support of Russia in the Greek city of Athens and to look into this matter, the agency’s press service said in a statement.

Russian investigators were ordered to investigate the incident, record the facts of illegal actions and, in cooperation with the Russian Foreign Ministry, identify the persons involved in order to bring them to justice.

According to the ICR, in Athens, a group of people attacked participants in a motor rally in support of Russia. Among the victims is a minor Russian woman, who, together with her mother, was driving in a car from which the attackers removed the Russian flag.

Earlier on April 4, the mother of a seven-year-old girl toldthat the Ukrainians attacked the cars when they stopped at a traffic light. “They tore the Russian flag out of their daughter’s hands and hit her on the hand with a staff, smashed the child’s hand until it bled. On the other side of the car, we had a Greek flag. They also grabbed him and knocked out the glass from the other side,” the woman recalls.

At the same time, the police did not try to stop the attackers. The girl had to be treated in the hospital.

It is also reported that a protester from another car was beaten in the head with brass knuckles. According to the Pontians, the attackers were migrants from Georgia. “They ran up to our car and hit me on the head,” says the victim.

According to the woman, whose child was injured during the attack, the police opened a criminal case into the attack and are now looking for the attackers. According to lawyers, such an attack can be qualified as malicious hooliganism with elements of racism, which significantly complicates the article of the Criminal Code and threatens the perpetrators with up to 7 years in prison.
