EMY weather forecast for the coming days

ERT meteorologist Sakis Arnautoglu promises snow on Saturday, but not at all as aggressive as Elpis brought.

The meteorologist says snowfall on Saturday 29/1 “will have nothing to do with snowfall on January 24”:

“Any snowfall that is expected next Saturday 29/1 in Attica will have nothing to do with the snowfall on January 24!!! They will be located in the mountainous regions of Attica prefecture (at an altitude of about 500 to 600 meters and will have much less intensity and duration) while it will rain intermittently in other parts of the prefecture!”

Increased cloud cover in eastern Macedonia, Thrace, Evia, the islands of the Aegean, Crete and the southwest of the country. Local rains on the islands of the Aegean, Crete and in the eastern part of Evia. In general, clear weather in the rest of the country. Light snow is possible in the mountains of Crete and Evia. Wind north/northwest force 4 to 6, southeast 5-7 on the Beaufort scale. At night, the wind strength will decrease significantly.

The temperature will rise slightly: in the north + 6-9°С, in other regions + 9-11°С. In places on the mainland in the morning and evening frosts, in the north-west are strong.

Friday 28 January

Light cloud cover will increase locally: first in the southeast of the Aegean, then gradually in the west and towards evening in the north. Local rains in the morning are expected in the Dodecanese, eastern Cyclades and eastern Crete. In the evening it will rain in the north of the Ionian Island and in Epirus, where there will be local snowfall in the mountains. During the night, bad weather will spread to the rest of western Greece. Wind north/northwest, force 3 to 5 on the Beaufort scale. Gradually, it will change direction to the west/southwest. The temperature will continue to rise. Frost in places in the center and in the north of the country.

Saturday 29 January

Cloudy. Local rain in the west will quickly spread to other areas. Sporadic thunderstorms are expected at sea and in coastal areas. In the north, in the mountains and in some places on the hills, snowfalls will take place. Gradual improvement in the weather in the west and north. In the eastern part of the Aegean Sea, the south wind is from 4 to 6 points, in the rest of the regions it is western / northwestern. In the northern regions, the temperature will drop slightly. Frost in places in the center and north of the country.

Sunday 30 January

Slightly cloudy in the west and north. Light snow is possible in the mountains, while light rain is expected in the coastal regions of eastern Macedonia and Thrace. In other areas, cloudy, local rains, storms at sea and in coastal areas, snow in the mountains. Gradually bad weather will be limited to the eastern part of the Aegean Sea. Winds of 4 to 6 in the north and 7 to 8 on the Beaufort scale in the south, with gradual weakening. The temperature will rise slightly.

Monday 31 January

Cloudy in the south and east of the Aegean Sea in the morning, light rain in the eastern part. In other regions, there will be some cloudiness, which will intensify from noon, light rains will pass in the west. Local thunderstorms at sea and in coastal areas, snow in the mountains. Wind northwest 4-6 points, gradually change to southwest, from 5 to 7 points on the Beaufort scale. The temperature will not change significantly.
