A 25-year-old resident of Volos was sentenced by a court for posting an intimate photo on the Internet after breaking up with his girlfriend.
The Volossky Arbitration Court, consisting of three people, sentenced a young man to 2 months in prison, who was found guilty of posting, disclosing and disseminating personal data. The convict created a profile on a social network with the name of the ex-girlfriend, and then posted photos of erotic content on her page. This is a revenge porn case that has been so much talked about in the country lately.
At the trial, the victim vividly described the shock she experienced when she found out about it. The girl said that after a quarrel, she met with her ex-boyfriend. At some point, he snatched her mobile phone from her hands, where the photos were. Later, she found out that the bastard posted her personal pictures on the Internet, which were not at all intended for the “general public.”
As the victim says, “she did not know anything and did not give any consent to the publication of the photo, she did not create a page on the Internet.” The shocked girl says she does not know why her boyfriend did it, with whom they finally broke up. Nevertheless, the accused himself initially stated that he “did it for the sake of a joke,” and then completely “went into refusal.”
He did not appear at the hearing to apologize for what he had done. However, his interests were represented by a lawyer. The defense attorney denied that the guy posted the photos. On the contrary, he argued that the victim herself made the page (including publishing her photos there).
However, his words did not convince the court, which found the guy guilty. The court recognized “young age” as a mitigating circumstance (?!) And delivered a sentence with a one-year deferral.
