A burglary took place at a policeman’s house in Halandri: a service pistol and 30 rounds of 9 mm rounds were taken out of the house.
The victim of the burglary was a 32-year-old Greek police officer who, returning to his apartment in the Halandri area on Sunday afternoon (2/1), found that the perpetrators had broken open the balcony door and entered.
The policeman discovered that the robbers had opened the safe in his bedroom and took away some money, jewelry, service weapons and 30 rounds of 9mm rounds.
The victim himself informed his colleagues about the theft by calling Άμεσης Δράσης (Emergency Response Department). At the same time, as provided in such cases, the policeman was arrested. A criminal case was initiated against him for improper storage of weapons.
On the verbal order of the prosecutor, 32-year-old officer ΕΛ.ΑΣ. was released while an investigation into the whereabouts of the perpetrators is ongoing.
