The EEEG Gambling Supervision and Control Committee has given the green light to move the casino from Mount Parnita to the northern district of the capital, the Marousi region.
The decision was made at the request of the company Hellenic Casino Parnitha SA. (ΕΚΠΑ Α.Ε.), 49% of the shares of which are owned by the state (state-owned real estate company Α.Ε., ETAD SA). This was followed by a thorough assessment of the documentation package with the help of experts, as a result of which it was established that all the criteria and conditions set out in the requirements of the law were met.
As highlighted by the experts, “among other things, the plan has been found to represent multiple benefits to society with regard to the alternative choice of the tender procedure for the issuance of a new license for operation of a casino in the northern part of Attica… Which is in line with the existing regulations on environmental protection, territorial planning, and serves the public interest, strengthens the legal network of gambling and the development of investments in the region as a whole, contributes to the reduction of illegal gambling, at the same time helps to improve the competitive activity of the relevant market and ensures the maintenance of existing workplaces of the company. The EEEPS decision, coupled with the decision taken on 10/22/2021 for the final award of the tender for the Elliniko casino license, are real milestones in the process of implementing and completing the strategic planning of the state, with the aim of modernizing the legal, dynamic, multipurpose and secure gambling network in Attica. ” …
