Coronavirus anti-record: 4,608 new cases, 326 intubated, 32 deaths

Today’s EODY report is not at all happy: at 15:00 on August 24, 4608 new cases of coronavirus were registered in the last 24 hours, 326 people are on intubation, 32 patients have lost the battle for life.

Among the new cases of COVID, 23 carriers of the virus were identified when entering Greece. The total number of cases during the entire period of the pandemic increased to 566 812 (daily change + 0.9%), of which 51.1% are men. From the first to the present day, 13,466 deaths were registered, of which 95.3% of the deceased had an underlying disease and / or were 70 years of age or older. Over the past 7 days, 170 cases are associated with foreign travel, 1923 – with previously known cases.

Among 326 intubated patients, whose average age is 65 years, 58.3% are men. At the same time, 83.1% of patients have an underlying disease and / or are 70 years of age and older. During the pandemic, 2,926 patients managed to cope with the disease and were discharged from intensive care units. Admission of new patients with Covid-19 to hospitals – 293 (daily change + 9.74%). On average, 272 patients were hospitalized per week.

The average age of the diseased is 39 years (from 2 months to 106 years), and the average age of the deceased is 78 years.
