Armed robbery in the center of Athens

The bloody armed robbery took place at about 3 am at a bakery at 55 Voreou Epirou Street in Kolonos (Athens). The bandit shot and seriously injured the owner of the bakery, hiding with the cash register.

According to the information available at the moment, the offender broke into the bakery, grabbed the cash register and fled. The shopkeeper followed him, but the robber shot him three times with a revolver, seriously injuring the chest and stomach.

A few minutes later, the police of the “emergency response” squad, notified by the residents of the area, found a man in Attica Square who was still walking … with a cash register and a pistol.

As soon as he saw the police, he threw the “evidence” and tried to escape, but was detained. Upon capture, the perpetrator resisted the authorities, but was eventually coiled up and taken to the police station.

The detainee refused to give his information, however, according to the information of the law enforcement agencies, he is a citizen of Georgia. The identity of the robber is currently being carried out in order to complete the arrest.

The victim was taken to a general hospital Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Γιώργος Γεννηματάς, his condition is assessed as critical.
