Russia: fighting fake certificates

The vaccination certificate business is booming in Russia. Demand always gives rise to supply, and not all Russians are ready to get vaccinated to overcome the restrictions imposed.

The Associated Press tells about the situation. In some Russian regions, the QR code acts as an omnipotent pass, so many unvaccinated citizens of Russia are looking for “workarounds” – how to become its owner in the absence of vaccination. Analyst Andrey Vernikov states:

“Unfortunately, people do not always associate themselves with the state, for them the state is sometimes an enemy. Therefore, at the moment, based on what is happening in social networks, we see a reaction to the introduction of (QR code). It is very negative.”

The reaction is really negative:

“We have not been vaccinated and we do not have a QR code. And we generally think that this is complete nonsense.”

“People were given a choice: either you get vaccinated and get QR codes, or you just sit at home and die from the fact that there is no money, no food, and the like.”

Currently, the vaccination rate is only 12%, so the prospects for scammers who have found their niche are very bright. However, the authorities do not intend to tolerate this. While they are convincing that it is still better to be vaccinated. And cunning businessmen and their clients are reminded that such acts are subject to criminal liability.
