Permission of the Greek authorities for the entry of Russians has been extended until June 21

Greece is ready to accept an unlimited number of Russians, as evidenced by a new government decision. To enter the country in a pandemic, guests of sunny Hellas must have a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19, or a certificate of a past disease and the presence of antibodies, or a negative PCR test – that is, all the rules in force until 06:00 on June 14 are preserved. After entering the country, you will not have to go through quarantine.

The Government Gazette reports on the extension of the decision. The new decision is a continuation of the earlier ones, the last of which is valid until June 14. As before, Russian citizens wishing to visit Greece can choose a convenient route using “the country’s international airports, the seaports of Patras, Igoumenitsa and the island of Kerkyra (Corfu), checkpoints [на сухопутных границах] in the towns of Promahonas and Ormenio around the clock, as well as in the township of Evzoni and Nymphea from 07:00 to 23:00, and at Mavromatio from 08:00 to 16:00 (maximum 250 people per day). “

All persons arriving in Greece are required to complete the electronic Passenger Locator Form (PLF) the day before arrival, providing contact details. Confirmation by the system of its receipt is a mandatory travel document. In the absence of PLF, the passenger is not allowed on the plane, and companies that let such a passenger in must send him back, assuming all transport costs. Air passengers should be prepared for the fact that they may have to take a test at a Greek airport and, if tested positive, be quarantined for 10 days.

The new decision has a new clause: if a positive test result is found in a person who completed vaccination 14 days before travel, the quarantine is reduced to 7 days. However, on his last day, he will need to pass a PCR test.

Citizens of EU and Schengen states, Australia, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, UAE, USA, UK, Israel, Canada, Belarus, Bahrain, New Zealand, South Korea can freely enter Greece if they have the necessary documents and by any means of travel. , Qatar, China, Kuwait, Ukraine, Rwanda, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Thailand, Montenegro.

All citizens who are allowed to enter must present upon arrival either a certificate of vaccination completed at least 14 days before travel, or a negative PCR test done 72 hours before entry, or a certificate of previous coronavirus disease and the presence of antibodies.

It is important that the documents required by the Greek side from the Russians can be in Russian – a certificate, test result or a certificate of a past illness indicating the presence of antibodies. The latter is valid for 2-9 months from the date of illness. If you wish, you can provide these documents in another language – French, English, German, Spanish or Italian. The main thing is that they indicate the state authority that issued them. You can also submit the digital COVID-19 certificate, which was introduced in seven EU countries from June 1. Children under six years old can enter without such documents, but over 6 years old must have them.

The new decision also notes that on the territory of Greece, all guests of the country must comply with restrictive measures related to the pandemic, on an equal basis with the local population. To date, travel to the islands and between regions is permitted. But wearing a mask and keeping a distance is still mandatory. The country has a curfew restricting night movement from 01:30 to 05:00 (from 06/12/2021). Little by little, the situation with the coronavirus is stabilizing, and the Greek authorities, in accordance with the recommendations of experts, are gradually lifting restrictions.

Since June 10, the number of Moscow-Athens flights has been increased to eight weekly – half of them are operated by Aegean Airlines, and four more by Aeroflot. There are no charter flights yet.
