A 23-year-old young man who was doing military service on the island of Lemnos was found unconscious on 17/04. And despite the fact that immediate efforts were made to provide him with first aid, this did not have the desired effect.
The soldier was reportedly found dead early in the morning at a unit based in Lemnos. Law enforcement agencies were investigating the causes of sudden death.
As stated in the General Staff of the Army (ΓΕΣ), efforts were made in relation to the soldier to resuscitate the unit’s doctor. But when he was taken to the hospital, his death was pronounced there.
Official statement of the General Staff of the Army:
“ΓΕΣ reports that during the morning hours of Saturday, April 17, 2021, a soldier MG, 2021 BSS ESSO, who served in the Lemnos unit, at the age of 23, was found unconscious in the barracks. Lemnos General Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The causes of the incident are being investigated by the competent authorities. “
