In Elliniko "work is in full swing"

Another step towards starting the implementation of the investment in Elliniko is the new decision of the State Council ΣτΕ.

At a regular meeting, ΣτΕ reportedly rejected allegations of the alleged transfer of public places (κοινόχρηστων χώρων) to private management. Thus, the management body of utilities will be legally controlled by most of the municipalities of Elliniko – Argyroupoli, Glyfada and Alimos, where the former Elliniko airport is located.

At the same time, the Greek Supreme Court considered that the environmental impact study met all the necessary formal and essential requirements, rejecting, as unsubstantiated, allegations of violation of EU legislation. The new ruling came after a series of third-party appeals.

Agreement signed with banks

At the same time, Lamda Development signed an agreement with Eurobank and Piraeus to update the terms of bank lending to finance the first phase of the Hellinikon project for a total amount of about 1.16 billion euros.

This bank loan concerns:

a) financing of infrastructure projects and other developments during the first five years of the project (phase A ‘) in the total amount of 542 million euros;

b) financing the commercial development of Vouliagmenis Avenue and the area of ​​the marina in the area of ​​Agios Kosmas for a total of 622 million euros.

As “Russian Athens” wrote earlier, the general director of Mohegan Entertainment, Mario Contomerkos, said that “in the long term, and after the commissioning of the complex in Elliniko, income from international tourism in Attica will grow by 10%, bringing millions of euros to the state treasury a year.”

The head of Mohegan Entertainment described the Elliniko development plan as a “spark” to spur development of the Athenian Riviera, and if it proves successful, other important investments in the region will follow.

Regarding the proposal of 150 million euros from the consortium Mohegan ΓΕΚ ΤΕΡΝΑ, Mr Kontomerkos noted that it was a vote of confidence for Greece. Regarding the design of Inspire Athens, he noted that the architects in their project “paid tribute to the history of Greece.”

Elliniko “will become a place where everyone, young and old, can visit the park, cafes and restaurants. The conference rooms will not be empty. And luxury hotels and a concert hall will be in demand 24/7. Elliniko will become an object unmatched in Europe yet, ”said a spokesman for Mohegan Entertainment.
