Two new mega-vaccination centers will start working in Athens from April 1

On April 1, two new mega-vaccination centers will start operating in the metropolitan areas of Peristeri and Elliniko. According to the General Secretariat for the Protection of Citizens, the two centers will have 48 vaccination streams in the first stage, and their total capacity will reach 96 places each.

Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management Nikos Hardalias and Secretary General of Primary Health Care Marios Themistokleous visited two vaccination centers.

After the visit, Deputy Minister of Civil Protection Nikos Hardalias said: “In cooperation with the municipalities of Peristeri and Elliniko-Argyroupolis and the Vaccination Committee, two new mega-vaccination centers have been prepared and will start operating on 1 April. We have excellent cooperation with both municipalities. A total of 96 new streams will be gradually added to the vaccination capacity of the four centers, depending on the flow of vaccine supplies. ”

“We said from the very beginning that we would be ready to start all vaccinations when we have the appropriate drugs. So far, everything shows that they are doing well: an excellent job has been done by both the Commission and the vaccination task force, ”added Mr. Hardalias.

“Once again, we thank the leaders of the Armed Forces and the police who are involved in staffing these centers, and I think that gradually, step by step, we are approaching the big goal of being able to return through the vaccination program to regularity. Civil protection, collegial bodies reiterate their position, their “present”. We are here to be useful in all the efforts made by the Ministry of Health, by all stakeholders with the sole purpose of serving the Greek citizen and ensuring public health, ”added the Deputy Minister of Citizens Protection.

Step by step, day by day, we are getting closer to the goal, thanks to a concrete plan, which we are actively monitoring, with measures that bring results on issues that arise across the country. ”

M. Themistocleous: An additional 272 health centers will be launched.

For his part, the secretary general of primary health care said that an additional 272 health centers would be operational immediately, and the total number of vaccination centers in the country would soon reach 1,073, while noting that two new vaccination centers in Peristeri and Elliniko had already opened and started. receive the first registered visitors.
