A famous doctor from Kavala, who was fully vaccinated, died of coronavirus. Despite the seemingly “complete protection”, he began to develop complications from Covid-19.
The famous surgeon from Kavala, who lost the battle with the coronavirus, left his last breath today, Thursday, September 16, at the hospital. Haralambos Papaioannou, who was highly respected as a scientist, died at the age of 66 from complications caused by a deadly virus.
According to kavalapost.gr, the surgeon, although he completed the vaccination, still fell ill with Covid-19. He was initially admitted to the main hospital in Kavala and then to the main university hospital in Alexandroupolis, where doctors decided that he should be admitted to an intensive care unit.
Charalambos Papaioannou had his own private doctor’s office in Kavala, while performing operations in various hospitals in the capital.
