On Sunday morning, a new, already the third in several hours, earthquake in the sea near Nisyros was recorded. The strength of the tremors was 5.1 on the Richter scale.
Weaker tremors preceded it last night and night two earthquakes – 4.2 and 4.7 points on the Richter scale. A new earthquake was recorded at 07:31. The Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens described it as “strong.”
The epicenter was registered 22 km south-southwest of the city of Nisyros. No damage reported.
We remind you that the earthquake data coming from the Geodynamic Institute of Athens or the European Mediterranean Seismological Institute are decisions that come from an automatic computer system, without the involvement of a seismologist. As new data arrives, they are constantly updated.
