“Scythian gold” is still in the Netherlands, the official representative of the University of Amsterdam, Jascha Lange, said about the preparation of its transportation:
“The collection has not yet been transferred. Currently, we are preparing for its transportation with all interested parties.”
The famous collection contains over 2,000 items. It came to the Allard Pearson Museum in Amsterdam in 2014 for temporary use from Crimean museums.
Years of legal proceedings over who should be returned “Scythian gold” – Ukraine or Russia – completed, although the Russian administration of the Crimean museums does not agree with the decision. On June 9, the Dutch Supreme Court confirmed that the collection should be returned to Ukraine. In Russia, after the verdict of the court allowed the termination of cooperation with foreign museums, writes Edition “Country”.
