Greece Trade Deficit Falls 21.9% In January

In January 2023, Greece’s trade deficit narrowed by 21.9% as the value of exports grew by about six times the growth rate of imports. ΕΛΣΤΑΤ.

According to the merchandise trade report prepared by the Hellenic Statistical Office on Friday, the value of imports was 6.827 billion euros in January 2023 compared to 6.455 billion euros in January 2022, an increase of 5.8% (excluding oil products, imports increased by 3 .8%, and excluding oil products and ships – by 4.2%).

The value of exports was 4.463 billion euros compared to 3.428 billion euros in January 2022, an increase of 30.2% (excluding oil products, exports increased by 17.5%, and excluding oil products and ships – by 17.3%) .

The trade deficit narrowed by 21.9% to EUR 2.364 billion from EUR 3.027 billion in January 2022 (excluding oil products, the deficit fell by 12.7% and excluding oil products and ships by 11.7%) .
