According to ΕΛΣΤΑΤin January of this year, a significant drop in the value of Greece’s exports to Russia by 40.3% was recorded, compared to 9.6 million euros from 16 million euros in the corresponding month of 2022.
At the same time, the value of Greek imports from Russia decreased slightly and amounted to 498 million euros from 498.7 million euros in the corresponding month of 2022.
According to ΕΛΣΤΑΤ, in 2022, 397 Greek companies imported from Russia and 404 Greek companies exported.
The total value of Greek exports to Russia last year was €156.4 million, down 24.3% from the corresponding total value in 2021 of €206.6 million.
Accordingly, the total value of Greek imports from Russia last year amounted to 9334.1 million euros, an increase of 117% compared to the corresponding figure for 2021, which amounted to 4302.4 million euros. In other words, Greece’s trade balance with Russia for 2022 was negative and formed a deficit of 9177.7 million euros.
On the contrary, there has been an explosive growth in bilateral trade between Greece and Ukraine. In particular, the value of the country’s exports to Ukraine in January 2023 amounted to 96.1 million euros, an increase of 523.4% compared to January 2022 (15.4 million euros).
During the same period, the value of Greek imports from Ukraine amounted to 31.9 million euros, an increase of 66.9% compared to January 2022 (19.1 million euros).
In general, the trade balance of Greece with Ukraine for the first month of the year was positive and amounted to 64.2 million euros.
Last year 387 Greek companies imported from Ukraine And 473 exported to the country. The total value of Greek exports to Ukraine last year was 343.2 million euros, up 1.3% compared to the corresponding figure in 2021, which was 338.8 million euros, while the total value of imports was 280.5 million euros compared to from 198.4 million euros in 2021, an increase of 41.4%.
The trade balance of Greece with Ukraine in 2022 was positive and amounted to 62.7 million euros.
