Five fugitives and wanted persons against whom criminal cases were opened and they were convicted, discovered and arrested by the Thessaloniki Police Headquarters.
According to the police, the case of the arrest of the 55-year-old citizen is typical, as he had an arrest warrant issued by the Corfu Criminal Investigation Department for fraud and three judgments by which he was sentenced to a total prison term of 11 years and imprisonment two years and six months for fraud, embezzlement and extortion.
The arrested were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office. Police also say an Indian national arrested in a drug case escaped Wednesday morning from a police station in the Keratea metropolitan area. According to police, shortly after 11:30 a.m., a foreigner suddenly attacked two police officers, hit them and fled. Police investigations into his whereabouts and detention are in full swing.
