The arrest of a 17-year-old foreigner was made at noon on Tuesday, January 3, by the police of the Oreokastro Security Department on charges of sexual harassment of a 9-year-old girl.
In particular, the police received a complaint from the mother of a minor, who said that in October last year, when the teenager was staying at their house, he began to harass their daughter.
Greek police statement:
“A 17-year-old foreigner has been arrested by the Orajokastro Security Department police and is being charged with sexual activity with or in the presence of minors, insubordination, violence against officials and judges, and violation of the Weapons Act. In particular, a complaint was received from the mother of a minor against the arrested person, according to which in October 2022, when they received him at their home, he committed indecent acts against a minor.
According to a statement from the Greek police, when the police spotted the guy in one of the districts of Oreokastro and informed him of his status in order to conduct a check, he tried to escape. However, shortly thereafter, he was caught and arrested, despite the resistance he offered to the police. At the same time, a pickaxe suitable for defense or attack was found in his possession.
It is expected that in the coming days, the arrested person will appear before the relevant prosecutor to answer for his actions.
