According to “Parlamentskaya Gazeta”, from May 30 in the Russian Federation will come into force changes in the regulations for issuing foreign passports.
RIA News talk about the innovation. First of all, according to the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia dated March 31, 2021 No. 186, the changes will affect citizens living outside Russia. To obtain a new document, they will have to come home.
If you submit an application at the place of registration, then you will have to wait 1 month for the document to be produced. For those wishing to issue a passport at the place of stay, this period is increased to three months. Chairman of the All-Russian movement “Strong Russia” Anton Tsvetkov comments on the innovation:
“You have to understand that a passport is not a luxury item, but a necessity. We do not have an iron curtain and a ban on traveling abroad. Accordingly, the state should not make money on this, but should make such a procedure as comfortable as possible ”.
The size of the state duty depends on what kind of passport the citizen receives – for a new sample it is 5,000 rubles (with fingerprints), for an old-style ID card – 2,000 rubles. At the same time, citizens who suffered in emergency situations who have lost their passport or the document have been damaged are exempted from paying the state duty.
As the deputy head of the Ministry of Digital Industry Oleg Kachanov promised in April, the data of the passport can be entered into the electronic certificate of vaccination against COVID-19.
