A businessman was robbed and beaten: damage 103,000 euros

A prominent businessman from northern Greece was the victim of a robbery in Mykonos when he was also beaten by a gang of Frenchmen who had stolen a very expensive watch.

Criminals attacked a businessman on Friday evening in Milos, one of the central districts of Mykonos. Two French-speaking people approached him. One raised his hand and suddenly shouted: “Give 5!” (a friendly pat with a raised palm that touches a friend’s palm). The victim, thinking that this was due to the friendliness of the tourists, raised his hand for a return greeting.

And before he even had time to react, he was attacked by the second foreigner, who hit him in the face. At the same time, the assailant’s accomplice grabbed the businessman by the hand and masterfully took off his expensive Patek Philippe watch, worth 103 thousand euros.

A businessman from Northern Greece, covered in blood, not having time to recover from the shock, ran to the Mykonos police office and wrote a statement about the attack and robbery.

The police began to comb the island and after a few hours detained a French citizen similar to the one whose image the witness described (a bugay weighing more than 100 kg). According to the authorities, the specific group of criminals involved in the theft of expensive watches consists of four people.

Video footage was obtained from cameras in the area where the robbery took place in order to see the scene of the incident frame by frame and get additional information about the thieves of the expensive watch.

According to the information, the detainee from France is currently in denial and remains silent while awaiting the arrival of a lawyer.
