Bank and ATM in Kipseli smashed with sledgehammers

Large-scale damage was caused by robbers to a bank located in the center of Athens.

A series of sudden attacks on the banks of Attica since last year have been recorded by the police. Attacks on five banks located in different parts of Attica were carried out by unknown persons. The thugs of remarkable strength began to smash the bank tonight, June 30th. The attackers, armed with sledgehammers, tried to smash the shop windows and the front door of the Kipseli bank branch, located on Evelpidon Street.

According to law enforcement agencies, at about 2:30 am, about 20 people caused significant damage to the bank’s office and destroyed an ATM located nearby. After the deed, the criminals fled in an unknown direction. newsbreak.gr.

Later, at 4:10 in the morning, unknown people smashed the window of the EUROBANK branch located at the intersection of st. Demokratias and Constantinopleos in Keratsini. It is not known who is responsible for the action. As well as whether any bank funds were stolen.

The police are considering the connection of past crimes with the new one committed today in Kipseli.
