The UK is buying Soviet and Russian-made defense equipment to provide it as aid to the Ukrainians.
This was stated by the Secretary of Defense of the United Kingdom, Ben Wallace, according to the Wall Street Jornal.
The search is conducted by most of the British defense establishment and military attaches around the world. Similar steps, according to Wallace, are being taken by the Russian side:
“Sometimes we have come across what the Russians are looking for, by the way, in some countries, they are also looking for some of their reserves, because … stocks are quickly running out.”
Wallace specified that 23 countries have stocks of Russian-made equipment. He said that Afghanistan probably also had some stocks of Soviet equipment, but suggested that even the Russians would not dare to buy weapons there.
