The meeting of the presidents of Russia and the United States is planned for the summer, the Kremlin press service reported today, April 26. True, the exact date and place of the meeting has not yet been determined.
Dmitry Peskov, according to the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency, said:
“Indeed, there have been some proposals, I cannot confirm the dates at the moment. No dates have been agreed at this time. We are really talking about the summer months. We still have to analyze many different factors in order to reach some kind of final agreement. At the moment, no country has been named (in which the meeting could take place). “
The spokesman for the Russian president noted that during a telephone conversation on April 13 between the heads of the two states, they discussed, among other things, the possibility of meeting during Biden’s European tour, which will take place in mid-June. However, Peskov did not comment on this possibility.
In turn, the press service of the White House reports that during the conversation, the American president proposed holding a Russian-American summit “in a third country in the coming months.” The President of the United States explained that he invited Vladimir Putin to meet in Europe in the summer.
According to RIA Novosti, referring to a Kremlin adviser, the meeting of the heads of state may take place in June. The publication “Kommersant”, with reference to anonymous sources, names the date of the meeting – June 15-16. Biden offered to meet in one of the European countries.
