The publication of the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Communications (Roskomnadzor) notes that since February 25, measures have been taken to partially restrict access to Facebook.
“On February 25, the Prosecutor General’s Office, in agreement with the Foreign Ministry, decided to recognize the social network Facebook as involved in the violation of fundamental human rights and freedoms, as well as the rights and freedoms of Russian citizens,” the statement says.
The department stressed that in accordance with the decision of the Prosecutor General’s Office regarding the social network Facebook, starting from February 25, 2022, Roskomnadzor, in accordance with the law, takes measures to partially restrict access.
It is noted that earlier today, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, in agreement with the Foreign Ministry, recognized the social network as involved in the violation of “fundamental human rights and freedoms, as well as the rights and freedoms of Russian citizens.” This decision is related to Facebook blocking the pages of four Russian media.
