Pfizer proposes to replace COVID revaccination with annual vaccination

The Pfizer CEO said that it would be easier to vaccinate against coronavirus once a year than to do many vaccinations throughout the year, and for this the company plans to develop the necessary vaccine.

Director of Pfizer (USA) Albert Burla announced plans to develop a vaccine against coronavirus, which should be put into effect only once a year, which will make it easier for the authorities to carry out mass vaccination of the population.

At the same time, it is noted that due to the sharp increase in the number of cases of COVID-19 due to the new Omicron strain, some governments are expanding booster vaccination programs or shortening the interval between vaccinations. Burla says vaccinations at 4-5 month intervals should be replaced with one vaccination per year.

“This scenario is not going to be good. I really hope that we will have a coronavirus vaccine that you will have to do once a year,” said the director of Pfizer. “And once a year means it will be easier to convince people of the need for it. It’s easier for them to remember and understand.”

Burla said the company is developing an annual vaccine that would protect against Omicron and other strains of the coronavirus.

Earlier Russian Athens reported about the statement of the head of Pfizer, that people will have to be vaccinated annually against coronaviruses like COVID-19 and their mutations.
