A free self-test test in Greece starts today, Monday, to better register the Covid-19 pandemic in the country and avoid spreading it during the holiday season.
Adult citizens, vaccinated and unvaccinated, who have an AMKA, PAYPAA or PAMKA social security number, are entitled to one free self-test at the pharmacy.
Free self-test kits will be available from December 6-12, 2021. Another giveaway will be available on January 3-7, 2022. Self-tests can be done on regular working days and pharmacy hours. The Ministry of Health announced that this measure is not mandatory, and analyzes should be carried out by December 12.
Greece is in fourth wave of pandemic with more than 6,000-7,000 people being infected every day, about 70-90 deaths and an increase in hospital admissions, putting tremendous pressure on the healthcare system.
PS It is unclear if “positive” tests should be logged on the online platform, however, if your test is positive, call the EODY emergency number for Covid <1135> 24/7.
