Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson said the country does not want to join NATO and is refusing to join:
“Freedom from military alliances serves our country well and contributes to stability and security in Northern Europe. Sweden will not apply for NATO membership. “
However, the head of the Swedish government noted that, in the event of an attack on Europe, Stockholm will provide all possible support and, in turn, counts on assistance in the event of aggression in its direction:
“The EU is Sweden’s most important arena for foreign and security policy. Our current chairmanship in the OSCE gives Sweden the opportunity to protect the European security order. ”
Ms Andersson commended the US return to a “constructive partnership” on climate, pandemic and democracy.
