The New Arab: "US approves possible operation in Rafah in exchange for Israeli refusal to attack Iran"

An extensive report by The New Arab newspaper states that “The US approved a possible Israeli operation in Rafah in exchange for the Jewish state not retaliating against Iran.”

A senior Qatari official said The New ArabWhat “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu managed to obtain US approval for a military operation in Rafah in exchange for refusing to carry out a broad military operation against Iran in response to its recent attack.”

The Qatari official also stated that “Talks of an Israeli response to Iran run counter to the wishes of the US administration and are unrealistic given Israeli claims that the United States played a major role in repelling the Iranian attack and preventing its success.”

Israel's plan is to divide Rafah into numbered sectors, in which population movements will be carried out systematically, especially towards the city of Khan Younis in the south of the enclave, as well as military operations. Egypt began preparations for IDF action. The capacity of the Khan Younis refugee camps run by the Egyptian Red Crescent has been increased. More humanitarian aid is being sent there. In North Sinai, increased combat readiness has been introduced along the 14-kilometer border strip with the Gaza Strip.

On the night of April 14, Iran attacked Israel with 300 drones, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. The Israeli army declared the destruction of 99% of the shells. However, Iran called the attack a success.

CNN sources previously reported that Israel postponed the operation in Rafah as it worked out a response to the Iranian attack. It was alleged that the IDF planned to begin the operation this week.
