Axios claims that Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian told his German counterpart Analen Baerbock that Iran would retaliate against the attack on its embassy in Syria, but that retaliation would be limited so as not to escalate tensions.
At the same time, the United States says it has already warned Iran not to take actions that could provoke a large-scale war in the Middle East. Israel, in turn, says it is prepared for all possible scenarios and warns that Iran is ready for anything. In his statement, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galad stressed that in the event of a direct attack from Iran, Israel will take an immediate and adequate response. “A direct Iranian attack would require appropriate Israeli retaliation against Iran,” he said in a telephone conversation with his American counterpart Lloyd Austin.
