WSJ: “Iran will attack Israel within the next 48 hours”

The American publication WSJ believes that Iran will attack Israel within the next 48 hours, in retaliation for the Israeli missile attack on the Iranian embassy in Damascus (Syria), which killed 16 people, including 7 senior officials of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

Israel says it is prepared for anything, saying any direct Iranian attack will be met with appropriate Israeli retaliation.

Iran has not yet made a final decision, according to reports. not so much because he fears an Israeli reaction, but because an attack on the Jewish state would directly affect the United States, who will definitely stand up for their strategic ally.

For this reason, international pressure is exerted not only from the United States, but also from China and Russia, with the ultimate goal of de-escalating tensions, since if the Americans act against Iran, the Russian-Chinese axis will automatically be involved in all respects and by all means.

The Wall Street Journal notes that an Iranian attack on Israel should be expected within the next 24 to 48 hours, and Israel is preparing for a direct attack from Iran's northern or southern territories, although it notes that Tehran has not yet made a final decision. Axios claims that Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian told his German counterpart Analen Baerbock that Iran would retaliate against the attack on its embassy in Syria, but that retaliation would be limited so as not to escalate tensions.

At the same time, the United States says it has already warned Iran not to take actions that could provoke a large-scale war in the Middle East. Israel, in turn, says it is prepared for all possible scenarios and warns that Iran is ready for anything. In his statement, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galad stressed that in the event of a direct attack from Iran, Israel will take an immediate and adequate response. “A direct Iranian attack would require appropriate Israeli retaliation against Iran,” he said in a telephone conversation with his American counterpart Lloyd Austin.

The situation in the Middle East has become “red”and this applies to Greece, since the Greek Patriot battery was already deployed to Saudi Arabia several years ago, where its task is to protect the country’s airspace from attacks Iranian drones and missiles. Since the Iranians have warned neighboring states that host American airbases that a US attack from their soil could mean the start of a major regional war, this means they are an immediate target, and with them the Greek Patriot battery.

The conflict over Iran could have consequences for the global economy even worse than the war in Ukraine. Even a simple missile attack on Iran could raise the price of oil to unimaginable heights, with direct consequences for millions of people.
