Mysterious death in Ilioupoli: mother and son found dead in their apartment (video)

ΕΛ.ΑΣ. is investigating the death of a 63-year-old mother and 36-year-old son in the Athens district of Ilioupoli: their bodies were found on April 10 with gunshot wounds in a ground-floor apartment.

At first glance, the tragedy on Termopylonov Street occurred when a son shot his mother and then committed suicide. But some questions remain unanswered. In particular, about access to the apartment – the main door was double locked, but the exit from the kitchen to the yard was accessible – the door, according to the police, was broken into.

Neighbors called the police because of the strong stench. Both mother and son, who had not shown signs of life since last Thursday, were found with gunshot wounds to the head from a rifle found at the scene. However, the location of the weapon also raises doubts among the officers who arrived at the scene – the carbine is not close to either of the two bodies.

After the locksmiths, at the request of the relatives, opened the front door, a mess appeared before their eyes. Perhaps the woman and her son became victims of the criminal activities of a robber. An elderly woman worked as a telephone operator, her son was a private employee. The father of the family committed suicide several years ago. Witnesses say mother and son often argued violently. Some questions can be answered by inspection and examination of the carbine found in the apartment.

From the results of the autopsy, it is clear that the man did not die in the place where he was found – in the bedroom next to his mother and even naked – but moved or was moved, police say. Today, forensic experts will have to answer the question of whether his death occurred instantly after the shooting, or whether he had a few minutes at his disposal and therefore, wounded, he himself moved to the place of his mother’s death.

If that happened, authorities say, the question is why there was no blood from his severe wound on his body or on the way to the bedroom. However, the question arises: why would the criminal or criminals wipe the blood from the man’s body, as well as the blood stains on the floor.
