New case of domestic violence: the victim jumped from the balcony to escape

On Thursday evening and Friday morning (April 4 and 5), Patras police reported five new cases of domestic violence, three of which were particularly serious.

According to flamis.gr, they went to 28 Asimaki Fotila Street in total… 3 times! Police made 3 arrests: one overnight and 2 yesterday morning (4/5).

Incidents recently recorded in the Achaean capital are causing concern as police authorities begin to take a closer look at all domestic violence complaints they receive following the horrific tragedy that happened last Sunday in Athens (Ag. Anargyros district).

The incident on Asimaki Fotila Street is particularly serious. Scared woman screamed when her partner beat her and cursed her. Neighbors mobilized law enforcement to prevent the worst.

A friend of the young woman, who lives in the mezzanine, arrived at the scene. The screams continued and the girl jumped from the balcony straight onto the sidewalk to escape. She was so scared that she didn't even have time to put on her shoes and was barefoot. Patrol cars arrived at the scene, the police searched for the criminal, who, however, jumped into the car and fled.

However, the next morning the abuser was detained in connection with a traffic violation. He was released a little later, and at 15:00 he returned to his partner’s house and began to demand money from her (150 euros), which, according to him, he spent.

The DIAS Emergency Response Team returned to the scene and arrested the man. The girl was also brought to the station to testify.
