The official results of the Russian presidential elections abroad have been announced (video)

According to the Central Election Commission, Davankov defeated the current president of the Russian Federation in 15 European countries, Argentina, Paraguay and Israel. He received the highest results in Serbia and Montenegro.

The official results of elections outside the Russian Federation were announced on March 20. According to the Central Election Commission, the current head of state, Vladimir Putin, received 72.3% of the votes. Second place was taken by Vladislav Davankov (16.65%), Nikolai Kharitonov scored 2.22% and Leonid Slutsky – 1.97%.

The result received by Putin was the maximum for all five times when he was nominated for the post of President of Russia since 2000, DW notes. In the previous elections in 2018, he received 77% of the votes. In 2020, Putin signed amendments to the Russian Constitution allowing him to remain in power for two more terms.

Vladimir Putin ran as a “self-nominated” candidate. Anti-war candidates – journalist from Rzhev Ekaterina Duntsova and municipal deputy from Dolgoprudny Boris Nadezhdin – were not allowed to participate in the elections. Duntsova was not even allowed to collect signatures, and Nadezhdin collected more than 200 thousand signatures in his support, but the Central Election Commission found an unacceptable “marriage” in them. Nadezhdin failed to challenge the refusal in the courts.

The West called the Russian presidential elections unfree and unfair. This statement was made, in particular, by Washington. Germany does not recognize these elections as legal. The European Union pointed to strict restrictions and pressure on civil society in the Russian Federation.

The presidential elections of the Russian Federation were held in occupied territories Ukraine, as well as in the annexed Crimea and Sevastopol. Western countries condemned the holding of voting in territories not controlled by Kyiv, emphasizing that the election results would not be recognized there. After they were held, the German Foreign Ministry stated that won’t call Putin as President of Russia. Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Moldova handed a note of protest, Estonia expels a Russian diplomat. Our publication told on the results of voting in the Russian presidential elections in Greece.
