Putin’s comment on the volunteer raid on the territory of the Belgorod and Kursk regions (video)

Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the raid of volunteer battalions on the territory of Russian regions: they want to seize territories for exchange and disrupt elections.

He said this in interview “RIA Novosti” – the Russian President considers the breakthrough of fighters of the Legion “Freedom of Russia”, “RDK” and the “Siberian Battalion” into the Belgorod and Kursk regions an attempt to “get a trump card” for the exchange of territories in possible negotiations:

“Nevertheless, the main goal, I have no doubt about it, is to, if not disrupt the presidential elections in Russia, then at least somehow interfere with the normal process of expressing the will of citizens. First. Second is the information effect that I’m talking about “I have already said. But the third thing is, if at least something works out, to get some chance, some argument, some trump card in a possible future negotiation process: well, we will return this to you, and you will return this to us.”

The Russian president added that such attacks allegedly occur “against the backdrop of Ukraine’s failures on the contact line” and are designed for an “information effect.” And he believes that among the volunteers there are foreign mercenaries:

“Here on the state border line, the enemy tried to attack, first of all, with sabotage groups – here is the latest report of the General Staff – somewhere up to 300 people, including with the participation of foreign mercenaries.”

As our publication reported yesterday, heavy equipment of Russian volunteer battalions – Legion Freedom of Russia (LSR), Russian Volunteer Corps and volunteers of the Siberian Battalion – broke through the border of the Russian Federation. The Telegram channel reported that Russian volunteers advanced in several directions in the Grayvoronsky district. Later, LSR showed footage of the breach of the Russian border, where it is clear that Russian volunteers made a breakthrough into Russian territory at night using heavy equipment.
