A 47-year-old man was arrested in Larissa for sexually assaulting his 3.5-year-old daughter. The arrest took place a few days ago following a complaint filed by a child protection NGO “Child’s Smile”.
According to the complaint, the man abused the child in his car near the Leptokarya train station in Pieria, central Greece. A man who lived in Stomio in Larissa, accused of abusing his child, is being held in Grevena prison.
According to local media onlarissa.gr A man working as a private doctor was arrested while returning a baby to his mother because the couple had divorced. Speaking to local and national media, his lawyer said his client denies everything and cites legal disputes and conflicts that involve the entire family. The lawyer told Mega TV that the father was changing the child’s diapers, and this could be misinterpreted. He also added that the child could have been “instructed” to say what he might have said.
The child was reportedly examined by a child psychologist and a forensic pathologist. The results have not yet been received. According to the police investigation, the accused sexually assaulted his daughter while in his car.
The child’s mother, the criminal’s ex-wife, has already filed a complaint against the father, who returned the child four hours later than allowed in the custody agreement. The accused, who is currently being held at Grevena prison for sex offenders, has appealed the decision to return him to the Criminal Court.
