The advertisement, posted on the Mykonos Agelies and News group and mainly aimed at restaurant workers looking for accommodation for this year’s tourist season, has sparked a strong reaction online.
In the ad, the owner asks for 900 euros for 45 square meters and says that the tenant has there is no possibility to cook and have a washing machine, it is essentially a hotel room-type accommodation.
Announcement:
“A one-room apartment of 45 sq.m. for rent, Ano Mera district. Preference for catering workers. Price – 900 euros per month. Electricity is paid additionally, everything else is included in the price. There is no possibility to cook and do laundry.” There are numerous responses to the ad, and most of them are directed against the owner of the one-room apartment.
It is worth noting that in Athens, a similar price for long-term (more than 6 months) rentals has already become common, and many offers often significantly exceed this price.
For example in the area Mets– not far from the Acropolis, a furnished apartment of 43 m2 costs 950 euros subject to long-term rent, and in the area Vouliagmeni for 45m2, they are asking 1000 euros, however, this is still a full-fledged apartment, and not a “hotel room”.
